Modified Action 1965 - 1967

Perhaps one of the most successful and recognized six cylinder modifieds of the late 60's was Bob Patton's 501 driven by Mike Kuepker, Roy Patton (no relation), and Ronnie Brotherton-and perhaps others. This car was sold to a Texas interest in 1969 for $5000 - a LOT of money for a six cylinder modified. Most of the success - besides the drivers - could be attributed to the unique six cylinder stroker power plant.
